Off the grid
Off the Grid is a series of abstract paintings many of which began with spontaneous ink spills and evolved into structured compositions inspired by grids. Kathy Elliott explores the tension between control and chaos, layering color, line, and form to create a visual rhythm that feels both intuitive and architectural. These oil and mixed media works reflect her interest in abstract expressionism, map-like patterns, and the transformation of accidental marks into intentional design. Each piece invites a search for order within unpredictability — and vice versa.
